With our exclusive patent-pending Virtual Light Modes, a range of additional modes are available – meaning lighting scenes can be designed for use during key flight phases, special promotional journeys and specific one-off events.
To help you select the right colour scenes for your fleet, we even offer tailored Colour Clinic sessions either ‘on wing’ or at one of our offices; where a section of aircraft fuselage is equipped with Cobalt Spectrum lighting units to let you explore limitless colour options and choose with confidence.
Easy, quick installation
Fitting Cobalt Spectrum could not be easier – in fact, our system has been installed in an A320 size aircraft by two people in just one shift. There are no changes needed to wiring, connectors or attendant panel controls because Cobalt Spectrum works just like a commercial OEM system. Simply remove the old lighting units, fit new Cobalt Spectrum lighting units and fly away. Our drop-in systems are also offered with a full certification package included free of charge. There are no engineering NRCs.
Saving fuel, time and money
The lowest weight and the lowest power consumption of all OEM and retrofit solutions mean that installing Cobalt Spectrum could save your fleet fuel and money. Not only this, but the system now includes our patent pending Cobalt Global Reprogramming (CGR) for one-touch updates; save time hopping from tube to tube and update your system from the central control panel.

Cobalt Spectrum is highly reliable, with a Mean Time to Failure (MTTF) in excess of an incredible 500,000 hours. What’s more, Cobalt Aerospace’s patent-pending Age Correction Technology keeps lighting units looking beautiful throughout their lifetime. Our smart algorithms mean that, should you ever need a replacement lighting unit, the new unit will provide a light wash perfectly consistent with the rest of your installed system.

Case study: Custom cabin lighting for Aer Lingus
As part of a line of recent innovations introduced at Aer Lingus, the airline chose to invest in enhancing the comfort of their guests with our fully customised mood lighting system. We worked closely with Aer Lingus to curate lighting scenes tailored to each phase of their flights, helping guests to feel relaxed and energised. Thanks to our Virtual Light Modes (VLMs), we were even able to add a bespoke ‘promotional mode’, capable of illuminating the cabin with Aer Lingus’ brand teal colour – perfect for special events!
