Cobalt Aerospace, part of the IFPL Group, has secured UK CAA certification for photoluminescent floor path marking system GLS-7.

Emergency floor path marking system GLS-7 has successfully achieved UK CAA certification, with FAA certification soon to follow. Designed and manufactured by Cobalt Aerospace, the approval process for the new safety product was also executed using the company’s in-house Design Organisation Approval (DOA).

GLS-7 is a cost-effective, lightweight emergency floor path marking system which requires absolutely no electrical power. Instead, the system relies on a photoluminescent polymer which is non-toxic, non-radioactive, and requires very little charging time under normal cabin lighting. Robust and hard-wearing, GLS-7 also benefits from added security against liquid damage thanks to an innovative new construction design.

GLS-7 joins a portfolio of products designed to enhance the aircraft interior, which includes Cobalt Spectrum, Cobalt’s award-winning drop-in LED cabin lighting.

Commercial Director Gary Girard is excited to offer GLS-7 to customers:

“We are delighted that GLS-7 has been approved by the UK CAA and will soon be flying! The team have worked hard to perfect the product, which is extremely cost-effective and represents a new value proposition for the market.”

Cobalt Aerospace are exhibiting alongside IFPL at MRO Americas from 18th – 20th April at booth #4216. Visitors to Aircraft Interiors Expo in Hamburg this June will also be able to meet the team at booth #4B20 in the IFEC Zone.
