We’re delighted to share that we have been awarded the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) award for International Business of the Year 2020.

After winning the East of England regional award of the same name last year, we were very excited to discover we had also won in our category at the national FSB Celebrating Small Business Awards – the foremost accolades recognising outstanding small businesses throughout the UK.

The announcement of the awards was delayed, as many things have been, by the pandemic. However, to combat this the team at FSB organised a fantastic virtual ceremony, with TV presenter and children’s author Clare Balding hosting the afternoon which included a message from the Prime Minister.

Despite some technical difficulties with the microphone (very 2020), Marketing and Communications Manager Alysia Schuetzle did manage to receive the award on behalf of the whole team:

“We were so excited to win the award for the East of England – and never dreamed we’d win the UK Final as well! It’s amazing to be awarded this recognition of the consistent hard work and dedication to excellence contributed by the whole Cobalt Aerospace team.

The platform, resources, support, and advocacy the FSB continues to provide to small businesses are each so important. We’re incredibly proud that Cobalt Aerospace has been recognised in this way by an organisation that is a true pillar of the business community.”

More than 3,000 small businesses entered the awards, with just twelve reaching the UK final for ‘Best International Business’. We feel very lucky that the hard work of the whole team is being recognised in this way, and want to express our congratulations to the other regional winners and those also shortlisted for the national award:
