Our USA division, Cobalt Aerospace Inc, is now offering the pioneering modular medical stretcher system AeroStretcher® Mk IV to customers in the Americas, with the aim of supporting emergency medical services with the transfer of Covid-19 patients.

We’re pleased to announce a new strategic partnership with GVH Aerospace to manufacture and offer their AeroStretcher® Mk IV design to customers in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.

Earlier this month, we announced plans to ramp up production of GVH Aerospace’s pioneering AeroStretcher® Mk IV design, helping operators to fulfil an urgent need in the medical community and enabling the safe transportation of Covid-19 patients in the UK.

Now, our team at Cobalt Aerospace Inc, based in Miami, are proudly the first port of call for aircraft operators in the USA, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean who are seeking to quickly adapt their aircraft into air ambulances suitable for transferring patients and key frontline workers.

Designed to rapidly transform both helicopters and fixed wing aircraft from a passenger configuration into an air ambulance environment in minutes, the AeroStretcher® Mk IV system allows operators to offer the optimum level of care to patients, without any permanent modification to the aircraft.

Aircraft that are not already configured for medical use can install AeroStretcher® and instantly provide a tailorable level of care; operators need only remove any seating in the cabin and fit AeroStretcher® Mk IV on the existing seat tracks.

Gary Girard, President of Cobalt Aerospace Inc, comments:

“The Covid-19 pandemic has been tough for everyone – not least those working in the aviation industry. We are fully committed to supporting our clients and our community, and for us this means being adaptable and encouraging our customers to do the same.

We are delighted to offer customers the AeroStretcher® Mk IV system. It’s incredibly important that operators are able to contribute to the effort against Covid-19 in any way that they can, and acquisition of AeroStretcher® Mk IV is one way they can ensure that otherwise grounded aircraft can be put to good use – all with minimal inconvenience thanks to a design that allows easy installation and requires no permanent changes at all.”

The AeroStretcher® Mk IV system is flexible and available in a variety of configurations with a range of add-ons to suit varying levels of medical need, meaning any suitable aircraft cabin can be configured to support frontline emergency workers to collect and treat people as efficiently as possible – during the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
